Get your Speed Suits waxed.

The time has come once again for the 2nd annual Dirksen Derby Snowboard Rally Race at Mt. Bachelor, Oregon on December 7th, 2008. The format will remain the same this year with a fun-loving rally course that allows competitors to individually test their skills against the official Dirksen Derby stopwatch. A loose running order and a ghetto timing system (stopwatch) will allow for some suprise winners, unexpected loses, and tons of prizes from Salomon, Dakine, Bonfire, Scott googles, and many others. The cost of the event is $25 with all proceeds being donated to our friend Tyler Eklund who was seriously injured 2 years ago while snowboarding down in California.
In addition to the classic Snowboard race, this years field will also include a "Token Skiier" division (limited entry), as well as the much anticipated Sit-Skier division. After an impressive showing of spandex last year, we will also be giving away another Salomon snowboard for the "fastest-looking speedsuit" down the course. For more information or to pre-register for the event (recommended), contact the participating Oregon snowboard shops (Exit Real World, Side Effect or Skjersaas's). Or you can just show up at the West Villiage lodge at Mt. Bachelor on December 7th, 2008 with tons of stoke and a waxed board. But keep in mind, spots are limited and may fill up quickly.
Any changes to the event, as well as current Bachy snow conditions will be posted at www.MtBachelor.com.
